Coconut Cove Fun Park
To increase our skills in modeling and allow us to unleash our creativity a bit we were given a project in which we were to design a park and model it in 3d. What started out as a simple project became a huge nightmare, with many frustrations. We started out brainstorming and sketching, then eventually started modeling. everything was going decent, however eventually the scene was getting larger and more complex. As the complexity grew, the computer started slowing to the point of inoperability. at the time i was rendering on an old pentium 4 so every little task became frustrating. In the end the scene that i wanted to render was so large that flamingo kept crashing and wouldnt allow me to render. The last 12 hrs before the deadline i still had no renders and had to figure another way to have something to present. So, i had a simple idea, if i render specific sections of the park instead of the whole park, then super impose them together i would have a full scene.Thankfully it worked, but i spent hours editing the scenes together in photoshop. In the end i had a great presentation,
The park itself is based on a tropical theme, with slides, water, swings, and all sorts of other goodies. I decided to make each of the elements modular, as they would most likely be if sold by a company. Below are some images of the park, and some of its modular elements.
