Modular Mobile Concept
With the world being flooded with new terminology such as green, eco, sustainable and many more we are forced to change the way we consume, live, play and even work. This was a 3rd year ID project in which we were to choose a product and perform in depth research to address the root of the problem and try and come up with a better solution which may help alleviate the problem all together.
Right from the start we were to describe in our own words what sustainability actually meant, and why its so important. In my words, i see it quite simply as Designing for an Infinite Future! short, sweet, and to the point. Designing for an infinite future makes use of all the Cradle to grave methods, as well as new practicess and proccesses that will help sustainability become possible. Ultimately i saw design for an infinite future as a method of designing with every aspect of products taken into consideration so that our children, their children, and in their children’s great – great – great grand children have a green and healthy planet, zoo’s full of animals, and tropical forests and marine reefs as we do today.
I chose to tackle the mobile phone, research its flaws, pinpoint its downfall, then tried to re-design a *practical* solution that would be accepted in todays society, while decreasing the problem significantly.
