FUJIFILM S7a CHRONOS

Industrial Design, Traditional Artwork Comments Off

During the second year of Industrial Design at the University of Alberta we were given a project to help us strengthen our drawing and perspective skills. In this project we were told to choose a device, set it up in an interesting manner and draw the object. The focus was to rework the drawings until the perspective was as good as possible. Once the original Object was drawn – then the second part of the project was to re-design the object for a few years in the future. With nothing to copy the project became much more difficult. Once the drawings were complete we were given an introduction in rendering with graphic markers and told to go wild.

My re-design focussed on enhancing ergonomics as the original was quite boxy and un-attractive, while also adding a few nice features. i created a thumb wheel for easy navigation, and also a detatchable remote screen which is now almost a reality with recent cameras.

Original sizes: 11×17
Media: pencil, graphic markers
