Mactaggart Art Collection

As part the U of A’s Mactaggart Collection’s larger initiative to increase awareness of its mandate and program, a team of University of Alberta students at the under graduate and graduate level, were asked to develop a specific product for Chinese senior citizens of the greater Edmonton area. The development of a reminiscence kit was conceived in order to grant the target audience access to components of the collection in an experiential way, contributing to their well-being through memory recall and imagination stimulation.   What has developed from this is a unique experience designed specifically to enhance the livelihood of a particular demographic and garner attention towards a future venue outside of the University of Alberta’s Museum’s program. It was our goal with this specific Reminiscence kit to provide an imaginative opportunity for interaction between seniors and their family, friends, and caregivers.

This project was a collaboration between Nancy Schultz, Sae S. , Mitch Mitchell, and my self. I am working on getting photos of the final kit, but until then here is my contribution to the project. This was a brochure that was to guide the user through the kit and provide a basic explanation of each item. The brochure was completed in photoshop and folded in sections to create an accordion style brochure on a rigid photo media.
